This was my last wedding of 2010. What a ride. Million thanks to all my wonderful clients for their support and trust. Many more thank you's to come as the year comes to an end. This was a fun wedding with a TON of fun people to capture. Shayna & Zoli probably win the award for most laid back couple of the year. It seemed as if they were going to enjoy their day, no matter what might come their way and this is absolutely the best plan for any couple planning a wedding. Unlike most of my couples, I did not shoot Shayna & Zoli prior to their wedding day. You see, Zoli is a talented musican, his second true love next to Shayna. Shayna knows how important Zoli's music is to him and wanted to continue to support his music career, even during wedding planning. Shayna asked if it was possible to swap their engagement session for a portrait session of Zoli's band instead. Probably one of the sweetest gestures of the year.
Shayna had also made it clear during our initial meeting, that she was trying to be as environmentally conscience as possible with regards to her wedding planning. She mentioned that the idea of taking the TTC (Toronto Transit) to her own reception is an idea that has been toying with her. I am fairly certain I begged her to go ahead with this idea. If you are wondering if the idea actually came to fruition, I am happy to report it did. A group of seven of us car pooled, took a streetcar, rode the subway and snuck in some bus and cab time to complete the journey. Take a peak below.
Stay tuned for the "Heavy Metal For Girls' photoshoot. :) In the meantime, wedding pictures will have to sufice. Hope you enjoy.
Many thanks for Ryan Lau for his brilliant work on this wedding with me.
